A Night Out That Means More:
BBQ, Bourbon & Burlesque Is Almost Here
October is here, and BBQ, Bourbon & Burlesque is just a few weeks away! On
Saturday, October 24, we’ll gather at Warehouse 410 in Evansville for an evening
of food, bourbon, entertainment and community. It will be a fun night, but the
reason we come together matters far beyond the event itself.
Matthew 25’s work in Indiana is growing because the needs of our patients
continue to grow. At the same time, funding and healthcare coverage are
becoming increasingly uncertain. Our patients still need care, support and
someone they can count on. We’re committed to being there for them, and
that means investing in the space and infrastructure needed to sustain and
grow our work in Indiana.
That’s what makes this year’s BBQ, Bourbon & Burlesque so meaningful. Every
ticket purchased and every sponsorship helps us prepare for what’s ahead
while continuing to serve the people who depend on us today.
We’re looking forward to a night of BBQ, bourbon experiences, a silent auction
and a performance by the Drop Dead Darlings. Roaring ’20s attire is encouraged,
so have fun with it! Come with friends, meet people who care about this
community and help us build what our patients need next.
BBQ, Bourbon & Burlesque is Saturday, October 24, at Warehouse 410 in Evansville. Tickets are $100 each, and
sponsorships are available through October 10. We hope you’ll join us.

World AIDS Day

For 30 years, Matthew 25 has stood beside those impacted by HIV
with compassion, care and hope. As we conclude this milestone
year, we invite you to join us where our story began in Henderson,
KY, for a special World AIDS Day Commemoration on December 1.
Together, we will reflect on the past, honor the lives we have lost,
and celebrate the resilience of those living and thriving with HIV.
The evening will feature a presentation from the University of
Evansville Queer History Project highlighting the history of HIV/AIDS,
a moving candlelight vigil, and the premiere of Matthew 25’s 30-
Year History Video. We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful
evening as we honor our past, celebrate our present, and look with
hope toward the future.
This special event will be held on December 1 at 5:30pm at our
Henderson location. More details to come.

Community
A Little Self-Care,
A Lot of Community
“This event is so unique!” We heard that over and over at our Self-Care
Carnival, and we couldn’t have asked for a better compliment. Matthew 25
is a unique organization, and we love finding new ways to bring that same
spirit to our events.
Guests enjoyed a sound-bath experience, a hype-hop fitness class, tarot card readings, fabulously hand-painted press-on nails, yummy breakfast bites and mocktails. They also had a chance to connect with our fellow nonprofit friends and learn about the resources available in our community. It was a morning to try something new, have a little fun and take time for themselves.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the community partners who
helped make the morning so special. We created this pop-up event to
celebrate Matthew 25’s 30 years of service, but we loved it so much that
you may see it pop up again next year as a free community event!

Celebrating Community at the River City Pride Gayla

Our Indiana team was proud to attend River City Pride’s first annual Gayla and celebrate the people making a difference in our community. It was especially exciting to cheer on our very own Lauren Smith-Reed as they received the Pride Rising Award in recognition of their work as a community champion. Congratulations, Lauren!
United is the Way
For the fourth year, our Indiana team joined United Way’s Day
of Caring, spending the day volunteering with Hopedotcom.
We regularly visit the organization to offer testing and health
information, so it was especially encouraging to support their
work in a different way.
At Matthew 25, we know a stronger community takes all of
us. We’re grateful for the care Hopedotcom provides and for
opportunities like Day of Caring that bring local organizations
together to serve our neighbors.

Sharing our Harm Reduction
Work
Morgan Sipes and Jenna Malone recently presented at the STI Conference
in Atlanta about Matthew 25’s harm reduction vending machines. We’re
beyond proud of this initiative and excited to share what we’ve learned with
others. Seeing the machines used consistently and the community rally
around the concept reminds us why this work matters. Congratulations to
Morgan and Jenna on representing Matthew 25!
Our vending machines are located at Patchwork Central 100 Washington Avenue Evansville, Indiana, and United Caring Services 324 NW 6th Street Evansville, Indiana.

Matthew 25 at the U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS
Several Matthew 25 team members recently attended the U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS in
Anaheim, California. Our CEO, Courtney Woolfork, presented “Bridging the Gap: Mobile Health
Solutions for HIV and STI Care in Rural Kentucky,” sharing how our mobile health work helps
bring care and testing to communities across our service area. We’re proud to see our team’s
work represented on a national stage!
