What Should I Expect at My First Appointment?

For New Patients

Three days prior to your first appointment, you will receive a text/email to complete your pre-visit registration through Phreesia from the comfort of your home. You will be asked to fill out demographic information and medical history. After reviewing this, please review and sign our HIPAA Privacy and Patient Policies. If your appointment requires a co-pay, you may pay that ahead of time. The process takes roughly 15 minutes to complete and will make your in-office visit quicker and more efficient.

Your first appointment will be more thorough than typical appointments. Once you are referred to us for care, we will be discussing medical history, housing situations, transportation availability, and any barriers that prevent you as an individual from properly accessing care.

For Existing Patients

The pre-visit link sent via text will ask you to verify info already in our system, make necessary updates and sign our HIPAA, Privacy and Patient Policies if it has been longer than a year since you signed last. If a co-pay is required or balance is due, you may pay that ahead of time.

Day of Appointment

If you were able to complete the pre-visit registration before your appointment, you will receive an incentive. If you were unable to complete your pre-visit registration, no worries. Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment. You will be sent a link to your mobile device or given a Phreesia Pad by our friendly office staff to complete your registration when you arrive.

When you arrive for your first appointment, you are greeted by our friendly reception staff. They may ask for your insurance card and photo ID to verify and protect your identity. You may also be asked to sign a few more forms and pay any co-pays or deductibles due.

Once your check-in is complete, you may wait for about five to ten minutes for our nursing staff to take you to an exam room, collect your vital signs, confirm your medical history, and document any concerns or questions you may have for your medical provider.

Depending on the reason for your visit, your medical provider will come in and assess and diagnose the problem, perform a physical exam if needed, and answer any questions you may have.

Before leaving, you may be asked to schedule a follow-up appointment as needed.
