Matthew 25 offers its patients free mental health services. HIV is a life-altering disease, and a diagnosis can flip someone’s world upside down in an instant.
Our Mental Health Service Providers seek to give patients and their families an outlet to discuss and work through difficult life circumstances, whether they are related to an HIV diagnosis or not. They can help our patients identify areas of stress in life and how to find the healthiest and most effective resolutions. They can also provide referrals to in-person or telehealth outpatient psychiatry for mental health medication.
Our Mental Health Services are offered in person, over the phone, and virtually.
Mental health services are offered to patients to provide additional support or resources. Our counselors can conduct individual sessions, refer to outside agencies for specialized support or psychiatry, and lead support groups.
Support Groups are sessions led monthly by our counselors and cover topics to assist patients living with HIV. These confidential support groups provide opportunities for connection and open conversation among patients. Transportation and meals are provided to those who attend. Virtual support groups are hosted as scheduled. If interested, ask a Matthew 25 staff member.
