A packed house was on hand Friday to commemorate and cut a ribbon on the new Matthew 25 Pharmacy. As a longtime leader in care for individuals living with and impacted by HIV in Western Kentucky and Southwestern Indiana, Matthew 25 is determined to meet the needs of patients. Located just down the hall from Matthew 25’s Evansville Clinic, Matthew 25 Pharmacy is the next step in providing the best patient centered care.
From a soft opening in April to Friday’s ribbon cutting, the focus has always been on the patients. While HIV is not a death sentence, Matthew 25 recognizes that adherence to medication is a very important step in reaching and maintaining viral suppression of HIV. Giving patients the opportunity to work with an in-house pharmacy helps eliminate any possible barriers to living a healthy life while managing HIV.
While being able to fill all HIV, Hepatitis C, and PrEP regimens, the pharmacy is able to meet most other pharmaceutical needs that a patient may have. As more and more patients have started using Matthew 25 Pharmacy, the staff has grown from just one pharmacist and one pharmacy technician in April to a staff of three pharmacists and two pharmacy technicians. Matthew 25 Pharmacy is now filling prescriptions for more than 85% of all patients across all four Matthew 25 locations. Patients have the option to pick up or have their medications delivered in discreet packaging.
Many community partners were in attendance for the ribbon cutting hosted by the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the new state-of-the-art pharmacy and meet the staff. Matthew 25 would like to thank all of those who made the ribbon cutting an unforgettable day.
