Staying Healthy against COVID and HIV

Currently, we are in the middle of a pandemic that is ravaging populations with weakened immune systems. This situation is a perfect storm for persons who are HIV+.

These individuals have vastly weakened immune systems and abilities to fight new illness. It is therefore critical for anyone who is or may be HIV+ to follow a number of protective steps.

Anyone who is HIV+ should speak with their providers as soon as possible to maintain consistent care and treatment that will help their bodies to withstand any new infections. This is especially important for making sure you have a large supply of any medications that are critically needed.

Other steps include following general CDC recommendations regarding COVID-19 prevention methods. These steps include social distancing, increased hand washing, and accessing any outside resources for help.

Greaterthan.org has a list of recommendations regarding HIV and COVID-19, as well as a list of resources and websites anyone can go to for more information or help. Follow the link to see what resources and information are available to you and your loved ones.
